I'm a beginner sewer - a very beginner sewer, you might say. Turning on the machine is still on my list of challenges....and don't get me started about threading the bobbin! So my requirements for being included in this post were strict. I only included things that either 1) I'd tried myself or 2) looked easy enough for even me to do. We're big believers here at Craft Love that skill is no limit when it comes to helping shelter animals. So beginning sewers, this one's for you!

These may possibly be the hands-down easiest cat toy to make. Ever. And bonus: the cats really love them!
This is an especially great one for kids because of the very simplicity of the project. Not to mention that you can use them as maracas before donating them to the kitties! (Yes, we've done this.) Let's be honest - these sort of look like little ghosts, don't they? The Anti-Cruelty Society calls them "kitty sachets" and offers a great hand-drawn tutorial on their website, but to me they will always remind me of little ghosts. But call them whatever you want - cats will love them and they are easy to make with or without catnip added!
There are so many tutorials for these no-sew fleece tie blankets that I hesitate to add yet another. But I really like this version - it has all the no-sew awesomeness but is much less bulky than the traditional versions.
